"THANKSGIVING"
Next week we celebrate Thanksgiving, and, with that in mind, I'm sending out blessings to you with a few Feng Shui reminders about DINING ROOMS! I wish you all a fabulous holiday!
DINING ROOMS
In our busy lives today in America we often rush through our meals, often not even sitting at a dining room table together. We often perch over a kitchen counter, stand over a sink, eat in our cars, or sit eating in front of the tv. The fine art of dining has been designated an occasional special event.
We have the opportunity to have an extremely nourishing experience while enjoying our meals in a pleasant and serene dining environment. Our wonderful food (hopefully wonderful) is just loaded with benevolent Ch'I or energy. As we eat in a relaxed lovely space, we connect with others and ourselves. We nurture our bodies, our relationships, and hearts, spirits, and minds.
What can we do to support a Ch'I enhancing dining experience? 1-Make sure that your dining room furniture is comfortable. If the chairs need padding add a pad or a pillow. 2-Make certain that the chair and table legs are safe. Replace rickety chairs and cover jutting sharp corners that can bruise and/or snag. On pointed table corners, table runners can be used. 3-Have your dining room be a defined space; one that encourages reflection, digestion, and intimate conversation. Soothing lighting, healthy plants, furniture placement, and rugs can make a difference. 4-Select art that relaxes and inspires you. The use of large mirrors can overactivate a dining room, unconsciously encouraging people to hurry through their meal. 5-If you are in the market to purchase a new table, choose one that suits your daily use. If you are only 2 people sitting at a large table, to create a more intimate setting, drape and set one end. Use the remainder of the table to set and display things that you love, such as flowers, candles, and art. Enjoy!
