About me...

I am the proud owner and practicing clinician at Eclectic Balance Counseling Services, a private practice I established in 2021.  At Eclectic Balance Counseling Services, we offer a range of specialties that allow us to provide unique services to our clients.  My mission is to provide services that prioritize the importance of Animal Assisted Psychotherapy and address other hard-to-find services.

I received my master's degree in clinical social work from New York University (NYU) in 2003. I bring a wealth of experience from various clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and residential care.

Why should someone choose to work with me?

Drawing on my diverse training and background, I guide clients through emotional barriers toward personal empowerment. I employ therapeutic practices that enable clients to make better choices, embrace personal growth, enhance their interpersonal relationships, cultivate self-awareness and self-acceptance, and effectively cope with life's challenges.  I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life.  During sessions with my clients, I aim to foster a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where they can navigate frustrations, uncertainties, and life's challenges. My role is to provide education and support when needed, empowering clients with the ability to embrace acceptance, openness, and trust that their best days lie ahead.

As a clinician, I am not exempt from experiencing adversity in my own life, and these experiences have shaped who I am today. I am deeply passionate and dedicated to this field, firmly believing in our capacity to achieve what we desire in life. Sometimes, we all need a little help to believe in ourselves and take that crucial first step forward, overcoming our internal obstacles.

The things I enjoy…

I am very passionate about issues related to animal welfare.   I have engaged in volunteer work over the years with a number of rescue organizations in various roles, such as transporting, fostering, and assisting in animal crisis deployments.

I am an active volunteer with local horse rescue. I am also an active volunteer with a non-profit organization, Pet Partners. I volunteer as a lead evaluator for prospective animal therapy teams, an educational facilitator, and a registered therapy team with my dog and cat.  I live with a family who is blessed with 2 Boston Terriers (Ruby & Kai Xin) and a Sphynx cat (Grogu).

My co-facilitator and partner, Ruby, is a therapy dog, a rescue, and a foster failure. When she chooses, she joins me in sessions out of the Nyack, NY, and Stamford, CT office.
